Carnaval Midway: No Man A Villain

Sixteen-year-old Ronnie Zeigler is stuck in the Lincoln World, a virtual duplicate of Earth as it would be if a huge number of totally different things had happened way back when. Her mission was supposed to take about five minutes: grab her boyfriend, Ellis Foster, and get him back home pronto before bad things happen. But sincere, naive Ellis is now, somehow, a year older and fraught with responsibilities. In the that has pased for Ellis he has acquired great powr and, especially aggravating for Ronnie, inisists on fighting one great battle necessary to right an imbalance he created.

Namely, by dragging our world's shabby 1994 amusement park, Carnaval Midway, to the already distorted Lincoln World version of 1864. Ellis, his genius twin sister Ellen, and certianly Ronnie know they are being manipulated by their powerful family, but no one can force Ellis to turn his back on the Lincoln World.

However much she admires Ellis's resolve, Ronnie knows their adventure is no living Star Trek episode. Ellis is in mortal danger, and the people of the Lincoln World aren's mere unwitting doppelgangers. Everyone, high and low, is striving for life and meaning -- and no man sees himself a villain.
